For the dogs??? Not a chance! I will definitely be picking up the Purdy Pack for my next paint job!

So I recently (as in yesterday) had the pleasure of receiving a paint brush to demo.  A company called Purdy sent me one of their fancy new paintbrush sets so I could try out their wares.  Before I go any further, in case you have never read this blog before or are not familiar with the writer, I’m a little… umm… cheap!  As in, expensive taste but a bloggers pocket-book.  This means that while I go for quality in the paint and the object being painted, I’m always looking for the areas that I can cut.  Paintbrushes have been at the top of the list.  So in all my years of painting stuff, I’ve always bought the no-name, el cheapo paintbrushes.  I pretty much use them for the job that I’m doing and then throw them out.

Then…. (start the trumpets) along came this fancy-dancy paintbrush and I’m not lying but this may have thrown off my “save your cash on the paintbrush” mojo.  I chose to try the new paintbrush out on my backyard wooden furniture, desperately in need of a fresh coat of Varnish.  My old paintbrushes might have left a few little hairs on the job but the Purdy guys… nada!

My Review on the Purdy Paintbrush with a 5 clubs being tops!

  • Effectiveness: ♣♣♣♣♣
  • Handle: ♣♣♣♣♣
  • Re-use: ♣♣♣♣ (throw the paintbrush in the freezer w/ a plastic bag around it- will keep for months)
  • Overall Look: ♣♣ (a cute color would be better… hey! what can I say, I’m a marketer’s dream)
  • Cost: $$$$ very expensive compared to the rest but I will admit you get what you pay for.

Would I buy another?  You bet… the re-use factor rocks compared to my no-name Lowes and Home Depot specials!
