1208_costvvalue_2Father’s day is a pretty revered day around our house.  Lots of attention for the Dad, presents, power tools and back rubs: pretty much it’s the one day where he gets to call the shots.  So this year, I’m introducing Father’s Day Eve – the work-hard, earn-rewards-incentive program for Father’s Day!  We’ll see how it goes – but if my plans work out, I should have a freshly painted room come Sunday.

When you compare the national averages, replacement projects that boost curb appeal—siding, windows, and decks—give you the greatest chance of recouping your money. While it’s a pretty serious honey that will do a full kitchen remodel, consider spray-painting your cabinets or replacing counters to update an older kitchen (only kitchen remodels can compare with boosts to curb appeal, at least on a national level).
